I’ve had a Twitter account for years. I never used it because I knew absolutely no one on it. Now, it seems like a lot more people are on it. Celebrities are using it to reach out to their fans, companies are using it to market their products, and nobodies like me are using to share random thoughts about nothing. It is basically like texting but instead of texting to just one person, you’re texting to everyone that has access to your account via internet or phone. There are still only a few of my friends that have accounts and even fewer that actually use it but it is better than no one.

Many of them are used just for promotional purposes like announcing movie and album releases. I wouldn’t bother following them. Celebrities like Shaq and MCHammer (celebrity?) actually tweet from their phones and you may find them pretty interesting.
